Michael Hecht, O.D.

Dr. Michael Hecht graduated from the University of Miami and went on to earn a degree in Visual Sciences and a Doctor of Optometry degree from Pennsylvania College of Optometry. He began his career practicing with a large multi-specialty Ophthalmology practice in Palm Beach County, becoming the first optometrist in the county to practice together with ophthalmologists. In the early 1980’s, Dr. Hecht’s efforts resulted in an integration of primary care optometry and general ophthalmology.

Dr. Hecht was a member of the Palm Beach County Optometric Society and served as President from 1986-1987. He was also the Chairman of the Palm Beach Winter Seminar, serving from 1990-1999.

Originally from New Jersey, Dr Hecht and his wife have two children; a daughter and son-in law who live in Manhattan and a son who is an attorney in Palm Beach county. In his free time he enjoys his family, gardening, jogging and traveling with his wife to New York City and Maine.
